2nd UK conference on supercritical fluids
– applications and opportunities
20–22 july, 2014

Introduction:

20–22 July 2014, Bangor, Wales, UK

The first UK conference on supercritical fluids was held at Birmingham University in 2004 and many new applications have been developed since this event. We therefore thought that it was timely to host a 2nd supercritical fluids conference in July 2014.

This conference brought together both academic researchers and industry to promote the application of supercritical fluids and to identify new opportunities to replace traditional solvent based processes with cleaner and greener technologies.

The program had four themes:

  • Extraction and fractionation using supercritical fluids
  • Reactions in supercritical fluids
  • Particle generation
  • Technological applications of supercritical fluids including cleaning, dyeing and impregnation

The conference was sponsored by Unilever, SciMed and the Welsh Government and in addition there was exhibitors covering extraction and fractionation equipment, bulk gas systems and SFC systems (sponsor & exhibitor details).
