fern  Aims of SuscompNet

SusCompNet is founded on the underpinning proposition that development of enabling technologies for sustainable composite materials requires a broadly based interdisciplinary approach, and that this type of approach is unlikely to arise spontaneously. Although there is a significant amount of work being done on this topic, it is currently being performed by isolated specialist groups. There is a perceived lack of synergy between the various emerging strands of "green" research, and much work has been undertaken without close co-ordination with potential industrial users. The aim of the network is to provide closer connections between research and emerging industrial and social priorities. This will result in a multidisciplinary, multi-sector partnership to the benefit of the research community, industry and society at large.
