BC exists to do two things.
Firstly, we spearhead developments in the science of renewable plant materials technology and secondly, we turn that science into a clear, commercial advantage for our partners and clients.

If you’re a distributor finding yourself with increased demand from your customers for sustainable products, we can help you satisfy them.
And if you’re an end user having to respond to regulations concerning environmental impact, we can help you comply.
Of course, it helps to be able to draw on the combined skills of twenty leading scientists, technologists, analysts and managers, each one of which is an acknowledged expert in their field.
It also helps to be closely associated with The University of Wales, Bangor whose knowledge base, infrastructure and funding put at our disposal academic and laboratory resources most private companies can only dream of.
As part of CARM (the Centre for Advanced and Renewable Materials), BC has access to a diverse range of facilities and expertise within the University and also maintains strong links with other departments at Bangor, notably the School of Environment Natural Resources and Geography and the School of Chemistry.
At the same time, however, BC is a self-financing concern in its own right with a very real knowledge of the demands of industry and the need to be pro-active, flexible and competitive.
So where a wholly private sector organisation might offer consultancy services and routine analysis, and a University group provide you with research expertise, BC’s ‘foot in each camp’ funding allows us to deliver the complete, end-to-end package from initial investigation into your specific business issue right through to a proven, market ready solution.
