LIMNet Low Impact Materials Network

LIMNet is an A4B (Academia for Business) Knowledge Exchange Partnership funded by the Welsh Government. The project covers the following different sectors:

  • smart and biomimetic materials
  • 3D printing and fabrication
  • building and constructuion

LIMNet aims to identify opportunities for growth and collaboration within and between these sectors both for academic institutes and companies within Wales.

LIMNet activities

  • information dissemination – workshops, seminars and lunch time briefings
  • company assistance – develop R&D potential and build collaborative research proposals.

Workshops

  • 31st March 2014. LIMNet Workshop – SMART MATERIALS: Opportunities for your business.
    Location: Carnarfon, Gwynedd. An overview of smart materials in general and then a more specific look at the use of smart materials in textile related products. Link to presentations
  • 15th April 2014. LIMNet Workshop – SMART Medical Materials for the intensive care environment.
    Location: Bangor, Gwynedd.
